Seed Swap Library

The Seed Swap was born out of a simple idea—gardening is for everyone. But sometimes, people need a little help to get started.  The Seed Swap aims to give novices and experts alike the opportunity to share seeds and gardening tips.  With the continued need for COVID safety protocols, we are pleased to host seed libraries located throughout the county and provide gardening education virtually.

Seed Swap Libraries will be available from April 6 - May 5!

This is a community seed swap intended to give you the basic necessities for starting your own garden. By sharing seeds, we hope to:

  • Encourage our community to dig in and garden

  • Reconnect our community to the traditions of growing tasty, healthy food

  • Create a community-sustained seed collection

  • Nurture a culture of sharing and abundance

How to Begin

Sanitize Your HandsFor the safety of our community, we request all participants sanitize their hands both prior to and after using the seed library.

Choose Your Seeds

  1. You can choose from any category of seeds (vegetable, leafy greens or herbs).

  2. Take only what you need given your space. 3. Take 2-3 seeds per plant you intend to grow (e.g., 2 zucchini plants -take 4-6 seeds).

  3. Complete a label with the necessary growing information and place on your packet or container.

Share Seeds

You are welcome to share your own seeds (2-4 years old). Please leave them here in their original seed packet.
